About Wildly Ethical
Photography with compassion. Storytelling with care.
Wildly Ethical is a space for anyone who captures the natural world—photographers, filmmakers, conservationists, and curious explorers—and wants to do it with greater respect, awareness, and heart.
This site was created by one person (hi, i’m Scott Pollard) who’s been learning over time that beauty isn’t enough if it comes at the cost of harm.
“Like many, I fell in love with wildlife photography during the quiet days of the pandemic. The more I explored, the more I realised how much we affect the very creatures we admire.”
Through articles, reflections, and shared knowledge, Wildly Ethical invites all of us to ask better questions:
How close is too close?
Are we helping or just documenting?
What does responsible storytelling really look like?
I write and research everything you find here, not because I know it all, but because I’m still learning. These thoughts aren’t commandments. They’re invitations – to think critically, act kindly, and stay curious.
What You’ll Find Here:
- Articles on ethical field practices for photographers and filmmakers
- Discussions on social media, technology, and wildlife wellbeing
- Guides and resources to help you align your work with conservation values
- Honest conversations about what we get right—and what we could do better
Important Note:
I want to be upfront with you – I’m not an author, wordsmith, or professional copywriter. While I have a deep passion for wildlife and storytelling, translating thoughts into polished words isn’t always my strength. To help me express ideas more clearly and thoughtfully, I use AI tools to assist in drafting and shaping the content you find here.
That said, every piece is curated and refined by me personally to ensure it reflects my voice, values, and lived experiences. The insights shared are grounded in care for wildlife and a commitment to ethical storytelling.

Wildly Ethical isn’t about being perfect. It’s about doing better, one choice at a time.
